Admin. history/Biographical Sketch
The Blake and Wrong families were linked by marriage.  Edward Blake, former Chancellor of the University of Toronto, had a daughter Sophia Hume who married George M. Wrong. Murray, Hume and Harold were three of their children.  Gerald Edward Blake was born in Toronto on May 28, 1892, the eldest son of Edward Francis Blake (1860-1905) and Ethel Mary Benson.  His mother was the eldest daughter of Judge Thomas M. Benson of Port Hope, and step sister of Clara Benson.

Scope and content: 
Photographs document members of the Blake and Wrong families including Samuel H. Blake and his wife Rebecca Blake, Edward Blake and Gerald Blake, as well as cousins Murray, Hume and Harold Wrong.  Most are studio portraits, some of which are unidentified.  There is one album depicting life at the summer residences Point au Pic and Murray Bay.

There is also some memorabilia from Gerald Blake’s time as a student at Ridley College and the University of Toronto and two letters home from the front during World War I.
