Biographical Sketch: Charles Perry Stacey (1906-1989) earned two BAs (University of Toronto, 1924 and Oxford, 1929) and a PhD (Princeton, 1933). From 1924-1959 he served in the Canadian Militia and later the Canadian Army rising to the rank of colonel and was the official historian of the Canadian Army of World War II. Stacey was a professor of history at Princeton (1933-1940) and the University of Toronto (1959-1975).

Scope and content: Manuscripts, correspondence, diaries, addresses and lectures, publications, subject and research files, student papers, memorabilia, reports, reviews, notes, and clippings documenting C. P. Stacey’s personal life, education, and research, teaching, and administrative activities as professor of history and with the Directorate of History, Department of National Defence.
