Biographical Sketch: Germaine Warkentin (1933- ) earned a BA in English (University of Toronto, 1955), MA in English (University of Manitoba, 1965) and PhD (University of Toronto, 1972). She was a lecturer and later professor in the Department of English (1970-1999) and was director of the Centre for Reformation and Renaissance Studies (1985-1990). Her research interests include the history of the book, English Canadian literature before 1914, Renaissance sonnets, Sir Philip Sidney and his family members to 1743, and early exploration writings.

Scope and content: Correspondence, clippings, reports, notes, essays, minutes, manuscripts and drafts, course materials and evaluations, bibliographies, editorial files, grant applications, and other material relating to the university education and teaching, editorial, and research activities of Germaine Warkentin as professor in the Department of English and director of the Centre for Reformation and Renaissance Studies. Includes material relating to the 1966-67 Survey on Married Women with Children in Graduate Studies and the Canadian Federation of University Women.
