Biographical Sketch: Harold Adams Innis was born on November 5, 1894 near Otterville in Ontario's Oxford County, the eldest son of William Anson and Mary Adams Innis. In May of 1920 Harold Innis married Mary Quayle (1899-1972). They had four children: Donald (b. 1924), Mary Ellan (b. 1927), Hugh (b. 1930) and Anne (b. 1933).

Scope and content: Manuscripts, speeches, education and teaching materials, correspondence, personal and subject files, diaries, correspondence, paintings, photographs, memorabilia, and other materials documenting the Innis family, primarily Harold A. Innis, his wife Mary Quayle Innis, and their oldest child, Donald Innis. Includes manuscripts for publications released after H. A. Innis's death including Empire and Communications, The Idea File of Harold A. Innis, and others.
