Biographical Sketch: John Langton (1808-1894): Vice-Chancellor of the University of Toronto from 1855-1860 and head of the (one-person) building committee that oversaw the construction of University College.

Hugh Hornby Langton (1862-1953): Librarian at the University of Toronto from 1892-1923.

Scope and content: Correspondence, diaries, writings, and photoprints of members of the Langton family, especially John and Hugh Hornby. Includes material on a variety of subjects, including the administration of University College. Also includes copy of sections from the diary of Sir Daniel Wilson relating to the University of Toronto.
