Biographical Sketch: John Harris McPhedran (1882-1963) was a physician and professor of medicine. He married Florence Davidson (d. 1934) in 1908. During the First World War, Harris McPhedran served with the Canadian Army Medical Corps and Davidson was a war correspondent in France from 1917-1918. They had two children: Isobel Catherine (1909-1955) and Elizabeth Alexandra (1911-1971). John McPhedran married Marie Willard Green (1904-1974) in 1936. Green was author of Golden North and Cargoes on the Great Lakes (1952, Governor General's Award).

Scope and content: Correspondence, diaries, manuscript of Harris' autobiography certificates and diplomas, deeds, memorabilia, notes, research files, interviews, manuscripts, radio scripts, addresses, photographs, glass-plate negatives, postcards, and publications documenting the personal lives and professional activities of the members of the McPhedran/Duncan/Green family.
