Far Out in the Fonds focuses on the wonders of astronomy at the University of Toronto ranging from 1898 to 2010. This exhibit presents an insight into the wonders of space including the sun, the moon, the stars, and planets through the perspective of U of T. Notable figures in astronomy from the university are highlighted, such as the works of Clarence Augustus Chant, Helen Sawyer Hogg, Robert Garrison, and Ian Shelton. The establishment of the David Dunlap Observatory is also integral to the exhibit, focusing on Chant’s dedication to promoting astronomical observation.
